Undiano to Referee El Clasico

NOTE: This refers to an appointment in the past. See the sidebar for updated appointments.
Alberto Undiano Mallenco has been chosen to referee El Clasico, Real Madrid v. Barcelona, at the Bernabeu on March 23.
Despite Carlos Velasco Carballo getting the call up for the World Cup, Undiano Mallenco is definitely the new hotness in Spanish refereeing.
In fact, he’s so hot that when he referees this match, he will become the first referee in 20 years to officiate both El Clasicos in a single season.
Overall, he’s refereed this fixture seven times.
I’ve noticed Spanish referees have an odd carding technique where their hands are held up behind them and they seem to like keeping cards in the jersey pockets! First noticed this with Undiano.

Don’t the Italians do the jersey pocket thing, too?

Do your job well tomorrow – particularly with the likes of Pepe, Xabi Alonso and Ramos, who seem to have carte blanche to do as they please against opponents. Fairness is all that is being requested.
This is how intense the matches between Barcelona and Real Madrid can get: http://messi.us/barcelona-vs-real-madrid-clasico/
