Demichelis: Voice of Reason?

Well, well…
Just when I was readying the torches and pitchforks after Manuel Pellegrini blamed Manchester City’s loss on Sweden, Martin Demichelis comes out with this:
I think Demichelis was put in an impossible position, and he’s just not strong enough to cover Lionel Messi. But I do admire him for accepting responsibility and not taking the child’s way out by blaming the referee.
It’s hard to express how much righteous anger those two quotes have drained out of me. I still believe that UEFA has to ban Pellegrini to protect their referees from attacks like this in the future.
But when I look through my search terms and see “What does Pellegrini see in Demichelis” (for real), maybe this is the kind of thing that explains it…
