English Premier League Referees: Matchweek 4
Matchweek 4 starts off with a big one: Arsenal v. Manchester City.
England’s new Big Man, Mark Clattenburg (who has quite the following amongst the ladies, if my email is any indication), will be in the center for that one, along with ARs Simon Beck and Jake Collin.
England’s two other top referees, Michael Oliver and Martin Atkinson, are at Stoke and Hull City, respectively.
As for my beloved Spurs, we have Craig Pawson in the middle at Sunderland. Pawson was an honorable mention on my Hotties list, so I’m happy.
Speaking of hotties, Andre Marriner will be Pawson’s fourth official, and will be with Phil Dowd at Old Trafford on Sunday, as well. Hopefully, this is an indication that Marriner – who hasn’t refereed a league match this season – is nearly back to full fitness.
Still no sign of the inimitable Lee Probert, though. I miss you, Lee! Come back!
One other thing I noticed: No match this week for Jon Moss, who had an absolute shocker last matchweek. Ron Ganfield, the AR who missed some of the more notable calls in that match, is likewise not to be found.

Clatts looks very slim in the feature pic.

From what I can tell from photos and conversations with people who know him, he’s actually quite slim. Rock solid with muscle, but slim.
