PLAY THE ADVANTAGE

This first Italian edition of Red Card or Not is kind of anti-climactic.

It’s a red card.

AC Milan, who are just struggling right now, took on Parma and former Milan player Antonio Cassano (above). Five minutes in, Ezequiel Schelotto took a beauty of a Cassano pass and was clear on goal. Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati bulldozed him. Period.

It was a no-brainer (or the Italian equivalent) for referee Domenico Celi. He produced the red card, and poor Marco Amelia had to come on cold to face a Cassano penalty. He didn’t save it, obviously.
