News: Tottenham Win Red Card Appeal
The FA overturned Danny Rose’s red card from Wednesday’s match with Manchester City.
Rose was sent off in the 50th minute by referee Andre Marriner after what replays showed was a clean tackle on Edin Dzeko. Marriner appeared to signal for a corner, before having his mind changed by linesman Scott Ledger. Marriner then awarded City a penalty kick and sent Rose off for denying a clear goal scoring opportunity.
Looks like Andre’s first instinct was right, after all.

No, and it sucks for Andre, because it was 0-1 when he made the call. With 11-11, Spurs may still have lost, but it would have been a different game. No ref wants to make a call that impacts a game like that, so I have nothing but sympathy.

Real sympathy. Now its going to be a talking point now for that singular mistake even though they lost. They will try to paint it that they would have still gotten a chance. Well the deed has been done and as you said its just sympathy i can offer

Sherwood was a real gentleman about it in post-match comments, so I think Andre will come out of this okay. Not sure about Ledger; if you override your center ref on a call that big, you best be damn sure…
