Lee Probert To Referee FA Cup Final

The FA Cup final between Arsenal and Hull City will take place at Wembley on Saturday, May 17.
Here are the officials:
Referee: Lee Probert
Assistant Referees: Jake Collin and Mick McDonough
Fourth Official: Kevin Friend
Reserve AR: Simon Bennett
There’s a very sweet article about Probert in the Wiltshere Gazette and Herald. He talks about what it means to referee this match, to him and to his family. It’s a good read.
“It’s the iconic trophy and the one opportunity. I know I’ll never get it again so it’s the one chance and all I want is for it to go really well. As long as I keep the focus and the mindset and continue in the same way as I’ve been refereeing this year, there is no reason why it shouldn’t.
All I want is for it to be a special day and for no one to remember me, really.’’
Here are Probert’s stats for the season:
He’s actually on the more reasonable end as far as cards go, and tends to be very deliberate. He takes his time and puts thought into making calls.
So expect him to be measured in a match this big.
